Overview
The MIS Analyst provides analytical and project-based support to the company. The analyst is responsible for leading and conducting financial, operational, process and project-level analysis in support of departmental development, improvement, establishing and monitoring performance goals, etc. The analyst is also responsible for implementing special projects serving similar purposes. Projects and analysis will concentrate on the company’s global operations. The candidate reports directly to the Senior Corporate Analyst, who reports directly to the Executive Management Team.

Projects and analysis will focus primarily on:

Efficiency and productivity

Minimizing turnaround times

Maximizing workload and capacity

Goal setting, tracking and analysis

Monitoring with controls, reports and other management tools

Reporting individual and team performance results to management

Process re-engineering and product retooling

Systems and data integration

Complex models – financial and operational scenarios

Analysis of pricing, costs, margins, unit structures, etc.

New business activity

Primary Responsibilities

Enhance and maintain corporate management information, which focus on key financial, operational and quality metrics. Coordinate with all departments to complete, analyze and report scorecards to management.
Develop and enhance management tools to measure team organization, productivity, and process
Establish and measure individual and team benchmarks for operational performance in areas such as turnaround time, quality, and cost.
Communicate and coordinate effectively with staff and management on all of the above.
Present findings on projects and analysis to management.
Research and complete analysis as assigned. Report regularly on status and results.
Research and complete special projects as assigned. Report regularly on status and results.

Skills
The successful Financial Analyst who have an extensive knowledge of financial and operational analysis and will be able to develop complex models and scenarios. Expert proficiency with Microsoft Excel is necessary. The candidate will have to be able to work with management and staff in coordinating projects and analysis and be able to handle several projects at one time. Interpretations of data and instruction, the ability to communicate, absorb instruction, and retain knowledge and instruction, are vital.

Experience
3 years experience in financial and/or operational analysis is preferred. Project experience, as well as experience working with remote locations to gather and analyze data, is ideal.

Job Summary

• Manage monthly close process to ensure 100% accuracy of the financial statements for Americas.

• Prepare various analytical reports and financial statements for management purposes.
• Continually monitor general ledger to ensure all activity has been properly posted.
• Research, analyze and provide explanations of actual results and budget variances to management.
• Ensure the maintenance of the general ledger including oversight of the set up of new accounts, cost centers and report modifications.
• Perform and provide evidence of the execution of the work responsibilities consistent with established policies, procedures, and processes as documented in the Sarbanes-Oxley documentation.
• Special projects as assigned.
• Constantly seek out methods to improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting department.
• Ability to acquire and apply knowledge of Lawson application products to record financial information and produce financial reports. Strong knowledge of accounting systems/software and Microsoft Excel and Word required.

Minimum Qualifications
• 4 year degree in accounting or equivalent business experience.
• 5 or more years experience in general accounting, preferably some public accounting experience.
• Fluent knowledge of GAAP. Ability to research and recommend solutions for new business issues.
• Good systems skills/accounting software package proficiency.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Team player.
• Analytical.
• Detail oriented.
• Ability to present and write information in a clear and effective manner.
