KEY PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Under general supervision, collects, evaluates, and prepares research and/or other complex statistical data for a specific unit of the business. Prepares statistical and narrative reports and recommendations, and participates in the analysis and interpretation of data as appropriate. Develops, maintains, and ensures quality control of databases and may assist in development and implementation of measurement systems. Performs batch data loads into the system using appropriate tools.
DEGREE OF SUPERVISION:
Broad Supervision
· The employee has responsibility for development of procedures for a number of their responsibilities, and/or performs complex duties within established policy guidelines.
· Work must generally be approved by Supervisor, and reviews of work are scheduled regularly – at least weekly.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops data collection instruments; develops and utilizes instruments and methods for the evaluation and quality control of research or operational data.
2. Collects, analyzes, interprets, and summarizes data in preparation for generation of statistical and analytical reports.
3. Maintains computerized collection and tracking of relevant data.
4. Utilizes specified statistical software to analyze and interpret data, as appropriate to the individual position.
5. Designs and/or develops specific databases for collection, tracking, and reporting of data, as appropriate to the position.
6. May participate in or initiate proposal writing; may develop and/or present training programs in field of expertise.
7. May provide a variety of professional, fiscal, administrative, and/or clerical services to department.
8. May lead, guide, and train employees performing related work.
9. Understands and applies the CMS policies, procedures and tools.
10. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
· Ability to design and implement systems necessary to collect, maintain, and analyze data.
· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
· Ability to prepare reports and proposals.
· Ability to gather and analyze statistical data and generate reports.
· Records maintenance skills.
· Ability to utilize statistical computer software.
· Experience with relational databases.
· Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Tertiary qualifications and at least 3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
